More G-Rock

Earlier this month we got the privilege of heading into 106.3 G-Rock’s studios and conducting a little interview and performing our song, ‘Stay a Lover’, in an acoustic set on the air. It was awesome to get in there again… we always enjoy visiting our friends at G-rock.

XMU

The XM radio station XMU has taken something of a liking to the Sonny Halliday EP, and featured it in late June on their playlist. Then things got even better when they played us in July on their ‘best of June’ portion for rising bands. All good things.

Knitting Factory

Were happy to say  we will be playing again at the Knitting Factory NYC with Lido Beach, on August 7th at 8.

106.3 G-Rock Summer Concert Series

Were going to be playing at Freehold Mall for G-Rock Radio’s Summer Concert Series on July 16th at 6 PM.

Its been a long time since the last post.

We will be playing every Thursday in July (except the 10th) at Rockn Joe on Prospect Street in Westfield, near the fire station. Each night itll be at around 8. Feel free to drop some change on us.

Westfield Spring Fling

The Westfield street festival, The Spring Fling, took place yesterday (sunday, april 27). We played for something like 40 minutes… unfortunately had to play Light Show twice because the people running the stage wanted to extend the set. Which is not to say that we dont like Light Show, but we do have an idea of what our sets are supposed to be before we go on, and playing the first song twice is not generally in there, though we’ve done it before. As a joke. So it goes.

On the whole, we didnt think we played very well, but the people seemed to enjoy it, and thats generally what matters in the end.

Bowery Ballroom

Our Bowery Ballroom show with Tokyo Police Club and Smoosh is this Sunday, 4/20. As of right now, it is sold out, but there should be some tickets on stubhub.com or somewhere like that.

Television

On Sunday, April 6, TSJ’s own “Northern Bank” could be heard on the show ‘Zoey 101′. That means that, at one time, approximately 7-8 million people were listening to the Static Jacks, which we think is pretty cool. Keep looking for songs off the Sonny Halliday EP to appear on Nickelodeon in the future, for they shall.

We have a number of new videos on youtube thanks to G-Rock Radio, who featured us on their program G-Rock Rising with Erin Vogt. We did an interview and played “Light Show” and “Wine Cellar” acoustically.

G-rock

This Wednesday, March 19th, we’ll be going in to record our spot on 106.3 G-rock radio. We’ll be doing two songs acoustically and probably answering questions. At this point for songs we’re thinking “Light Show” and “Wine Cellar”. We’ll let you know when its going on air when we find out.

Crash Mansion cancelled / Greenhouse residency created

There were some problems with the Crash Mansion show scheduled for 3/1, so its going to be rescheduled. Instead we played a guerrilla show here in Westfield in a greenhouse at Williams Nursery. A bunch of people came and everybody seemed to have a great time breakin it down and singing along.

There should be more of these greenhouse shows on the way. Perhaps next time we will give more than 3 hours notice for those planning on coming.

Radio Radio

Though we just have basic information right now, we thought we’d let you know that TSJ will be appearing on 106.3 G-Rock Radio as well as Monmouth Radio within the next 2 months or so. We’ll probably be playing some acoustic songs and answering some questions, so we’ll let you know when to tune in.

We have a new show coming up on March 1st at Crash Mansion in NYC. The venue is at 199 Bowery, and the show is at ~7:45, and its 21+. If you are 21+ years of age or really sneaky, then you should be there.
